About Den Sidste Flaske

In 2019, Julie and Tobias founded Den Sidste Flaske - a webshop dedicated to selling wine to the people, not the critics. They wanted to shake up the wine industry and make it easy for the average Dane to understand and buy good wine. It's fair to say that this vision is being realised.

As a team, they have brought experience from the restaurant industry and the wine trade into the business. Their good business acumen and great passion for wine and e-commerce has allowed them to grow the company from a startup to running warehouses in both Denmark and Germany in just a few years.

ROAS x 20 and more revenue with SMS

Some periods are busier than others, and this also applies to Den Sidste Flaske. SMS is one of the tools they turn to when sales need a boost.

In fact, SMS often proves to be a sure winner for them when they want to increase sales.

"For us, SMS is a really great channel because it allows us to move instantly. It doesn't require a whole lot of time and planning. When we're in a quiet period, we can send a quick SMS to the right recipients and immediately see that the activity on our website increases significantly."

DSF drives result with targeted segmentation

Den Sidste Flaske has integrated inMobile with two of their other systems: Shopify and Klaviyo.

These integrations allow them to access important data about customers' purchasing behaviour, which is synchronized between the systems. They can use that data to create timely and valuable segments.

That way, they can send the right offer to the right recipients - and it works!

It's this strategy that helps create the fantastic results that Den Sidste Flaske achieves on the SMS channel. When they send an SMS, they see an average CTR of 20% and their ROAS is never below 2000%. In fact, it's often higher.

"We never have a ROAS below 2000% when we send an SMS, and our CTR is usually above 20% as well. On average, we generate sales of between 100,000 - 250,000 per month with the SMS channel alone."

SMS for VIP offers and events

Den Sidste Flaske sees SMS marketing as a valuable channel that enables them to communicate directly and effectively. SMS allows them to instantly engage customers with important updates such as live events or special offers.

"I sincerely believe that SMS is a very powerful channel. This is partly because email is so flooded today and the message quickly becomes irrelevant. SMS just stands out a lot more."

It's important for them not to get too pushy, though. Therefore, not everyone can join their SMS list. The SMS list is only for customers who have shopped several times at Den Sidste Flaske and who have then actively asked to join the SMS club.

Already when collecting permissions, they segment their SMS recipients to make sure there is some prior interest from the recipients. This is smart because it minimises the risk of sending messages to recipients who are essentially not interested and therefore do not interact with or act on the messages.

In addition, Den Sidste Flaske has chosen to limit the amount of broadcasts to 2-3 messages per month. They do this for several reasons, but one of the biggest is to ensure relevance. Their SMS recipients know that when they receive an SMS from Den Sidste Flaske, it's because there's a special offer or a live event to attend.

This means that SMS followers stay on the list for a long time and that Den Sidste Flaske sees a lot of engagement and activity every time they send an SMS.

"We use SMS for extra special offers. Here, SMS is just brilliant. When I send out an SMS, I can see the result seconds later because we get a lot of visitors to the website."
