2-way SMS

A keyword or a virtual phone number is required to receive SMS messages.

With a keyword or a virtual number, you can set up a series of automatic actions triggered by a mobile user sending you SMS messages.

What is a keyword?

A keyword is the word you want the mobile user to type into a 4-digit phone number (short code). If you run a store and want your customers to sign up for an SMS customer club, for example, you can ask them to text the name of the store, e.g. CLOTHES SHOP, to 1245 to sign up.

The 4-digit number differs from country to country, so you will not be able to receive traffic on 1245 from foreign mobile numbers. inMobile has many foreign short codes available. Contact us at [email protected] to learn more.

What is a virtual number?

A virtual number looks like a regular phone number and opens up 2-way communication. Unlike a 4-digit number (short code), the mobile user does not need to use a keyword in the message.

You can also communicate with foreign mobile users with a Danish virtual number. Foreign virtual phone numbers are available for international campaigns or 2-way communication in specific countries. Mobile users avoid paying international SMS rates. Contact us at [email protected] if you want to learn more.
