Truestory had a thesis about SMS
Truestory and inMobile have collaborated since 2018. Back then, Truestory owner Lasse Kjær wanted to test the following thesis: "Customers prefer SMS over email".
He justified the thesis with the following statement:
#1 SMS is more personal than email
SMS is a more personal form of communication than email. In the recipient's SMS inbox, you don't compete for attention in the same way with newsletters, phishing scams, and the like. Instead, you land directly in the recipient's pocket - bypassing all the noise.
#2 People check their SMS faster than email
Lasse assumed that most people check new SMS messages faster than they check new emails.
#3 SMS bypasses spam filters
With the right SMS gateway, you can be pretty sure that your SMS message will arrive where intended. With emails, you can hit spam filters by mistake and risk the recipient not seeing your email at all.
#4 Everyone has their mobiles on them
You have your mobile phone on you with phone numbers of family, friends and acquaintances. You don't necessarily have that with email addresses.
The conclusion was a confirmed thesis
After Truestory's collaboration with inMobile, the gathered data has confirmed Lasse's thesis.
95% of Truestory customers actually prefer using SMS to receiving emails.
"In this context, we are pleased with our collaboration with InMobile - it works exactly as it should. And with a proprietary notification function, we are quickly notified if a shipment fails due to an invalid mobile number or similar problem."
